Here’s how you can pray for Ecclesia this month:
- We are moving forward! We’ve loved establishing a rhythm of worship together, and now it’s time to get to work. We’re focusing this year on connecting in meaningful ways with the community. We’re starting off in March by hosting an Alpha Course and a new group for guys called Scotch & Scripture, and we’re praying God brings the right people to both. We’re also working on connecting with some events already happening in Oshawa - like the peony festival, Canada Day celebrations, or our local Ribfest. Plus, we’ve been working hard to strategize and plan next steps towards our dream of opening a community space! (Expect to hear more about this on the blog soon.) Please join us in praying for all these things - for the right people to be a part of each moment, that we would have our eyes open for opportunities, and that, through it all, we would be listening for God’s voice and following where He calls.
- My family and I are still working on our immigration status here in Canada. Last summer, we had a hard time waiting for my visa to be renewed, and it looks like we’ll likely be in the same situation this summer. However, we’re currently applying for Permanent Resident status, which would allow us to be here indefinitely (which is, after all, our plan!) without having to renew a visa each year. We’re working with a lawyer for this process, who believes we could have this completed by the fall - although after our experience this summer, I’m anticipating it to be longer. So, pray through the process, especially that it could go quickly and smoothly so that these immigration matters are no longer hanging over our heads.
- I’m currently praying that God would bring at least 2-3 new people into our community each month. I admit, I don’t often pray so specifically; it feels more naturally for me to pray that God would lead us, to pray for opportunities, to pray for open doors, etc. But, I feel led in this season to make my prayers specific. So - join me in that prayer! We’d love to make some new connections and see our church family grow.
Thanks for partnering with us in prayer!
