Hello! This week’s post is late - but I thought I’d pop in and share a few things around the internet that I’ve come across that have encouraged me, inspired me, challenged me, etc.
Here we go:
- I love the idea of “scruffy hospitality.” Just invite people into your life - don’t worry about everything being or looking perfect.
- I don’t often get into the whole women-in-ministry issue - it’s important to me, obviously, but I’m just here to follow Christ, not break glass ceilings. (Also, can we find a better word than “issue”? For this and so many “issues,” we so quickly forget that the conversation represents so many actual people with lives and stories and hurts and dreams. That’s another conversation, though…) But - these two articles this week were interesting reads - one about the Biblical history of female church-starters, and another about the difference in perspective for women in leadership from established church hierarchy and a new church.
- I’ve been enjoying the RePlacing Church Podcast from my friend Ben Katt. Thanks for putting this out into the world, Ben!
- And another podcast I’ve been enjoying, which has nothing to do with church or faith anything, is Sawbones - a medical history podcast which is equal parts fascinating and hilarious. If you want something fun to listen to while you clean or drive or work out, check it out!
